Papertake Weekly - it's sketch time!

Hi everyone!! We made it through Monday, and we are finally starting to see some winter weather out here in Reno. I woke up this morning (Monday) to snowy and very icy roads. It was not a fun trip to work today. And it's been flurrying all day and supposed to get down into the teens tonight, so I don't think the roads willl be much of a picnic tomorrow morning either. So enough about our yucky weather! LOL! It's time for a new challenge at Papertake Weekly, and since it's the last Tuesday of the month, that means it's our sketch week which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!! I LOVE working with Dawny's sketches! I don't know how she comes up with so many amazing layouts, but she's pure genius at it! So here's what we've got this week.

and my take on it...

I used this FABULOUS image from Kraftin Kimmie's newest release. It's in a collection called Tweets and Twitters 2 by Emilie Goulet. It's a set of three bird images with six coordinating sentiments. LOOOVE these birds! Tweets and Twitters 2 release was accompanied by Tweets and Twitters 1, which is equally fabulous! They are so much fun to color! He's stamped onto Cryogen white paper and colored with Copic markers.

The papers are Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth matted with Bazzill cardstock. The sentiment comes with the set of birds. Of course I had to make the little action marks around his hiney to simulate him shaking his tailfeathers. LOL! The flower was made using a Magnolia Doohickey die and the flourish was cut with Cricut Expression and the Straight From The Nest cartridge. How appropriate was that?? LOL!  Added a bow made with May Arts silk ribbon topped with a button, finished it with a little twine and called her done! This is the card we'll be making for my March card class, so hope to see you there if you're in the Reno area!

So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out all my amazingly talented teammies creations for you, and then we would truly love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon. HUGS!!

Kraftin' Kimmie - it's sketch time!!

Hi everyone!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! It's time for a new challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog, and this week our hostess with the mostest is the amazing Pam Varnell! Pam has supplied us with a fabulous sketch to work with for our new challenge. Since Pam used the awesome Coffee Crusader on her card,  that's the prize that's up for grabs this week. Here's my take on the sketch

I used Lulu with teddy from the set Lulu and Friends. She's stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen White paper and colored with Copics. I then cut her out using oval and petite scalloped oval Nesties. The papers are Nitwit Collections and I picked this patter cause they reminded me of jammies.  The ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The corner pearls were made with a pearl pen.

Please be sure and pop over to Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge blog to see the rest of the gorgeous creations by my teammies, and then we'd love it if you'd play along with us!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has some Frugal Friday specials going on too! Go check it out HERE! Kimmie has some awesome stamps on sale for 40% off!!!!

Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

PaperPlay Challenge - Mother's Day or Female relative

Hey everyone! Happy Friday Eve!! It's time for a new challenge at PaperPlay Challenges and this week, the challenge is to make something for Mother's Day or a female relative.  Our sponsor this week is Crafty Cutting, and they're offering up an awesome chipboard kit!!  So have you seen the fabulous Saturated Canary images? They're by the very talented Krista Smith, and they're just so precious! This is my first time coloring them, and I've fallen in love.  Her name is Kitty and I think she's purrrrfectly adorable!

I kept it very simple.  Kitty is printed on Cryogen White paper and then colored with Copics. I used cool grays and RV90's. The papers are digi as well from Pink Petticoat matted with Bazzill cardstock. Added some buttons, a doily from Cheery Lynn Designs, and ribbon from my stash and that was pretty much it. Oh yeah...I stuck a little pink netting in there too.

Please make sure to visit PaperPlay Challenges to see all the other gorgeous creations from the rest of the design team, and then we hope you join us in the challenge. Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Time to get krafty!!

Hey everyone! Monday is overwith (yaaaay!) and it's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly! This week, Dawny is asking us all to get krafty with kraft cardstock somewhere on your project. We're sponsored this week by the amazing Mary and Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl, so an awesome prize is up for grabs to one lucky person! Here is what I've come up with for you today

I used this adorable sweetie from the Sweet Crazy Love 2012 collection over at Magnolia-licious. She's #240 Tilda with wrapped heart, and she's the sweetest little thing!! I don't see her in stock right now in the regular size, But Diana does have the mini available here.

She's stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen white paper and then colored with Copic markers. The DP's are from Nitiwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock and kraft paper from PTI. The sentiemnt is also on kraft paper and then cut out with a Spellbinder die.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and that pretty little butterfly is from a trio set of Cheery Lynn Designs dies which was a wonderful gift from my friend Linda! Thank you Linda and see you Friday night! (We're having a Copic Color and Crop til you drop night...can you say FUN??!!!!) The last thing I added were the pearls from a pearl pen. I was totally devastated as the pen dripped onto the bottom of the card as I went to put a single pearl in the bottom right corner next to the flowers. Once it dripped, that was it...there was no getting if off there. So I looked at it and tried to figure out how to cover it up. I wasn't about to ditch the whole card cause everything was stuck down tight and would have been ruined had I tried to take it all apart. So in trying to figure out what I could stick in the corner, I punched some leaves. It covers it mostly, but if you look closely, you can still see the smudge peeking out a little. UGH!  There was something up with that lower right corner as I'd already messed up the punch around the page by pushing down the punch again after already punching the corner. Sometimes, things just don't work out...but we're lucky that we have so many wonderful kinds of embellishments to cover those mistakes up!! LOL!  Uh oh...now I've given up all my mistakes, the person that gets this card will think it's a piece of garbage! LOL! What have I done??!!

So that's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Papertake Weekly to check out my DT sister's amazing creations, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs !

Magnolia-licious - Let's spring into a blog hop!!

Hi everyone and happy Monday!! Is that a conundrum????  ;) It's the third Monday in the month, so that means it's time for the Magnolia-licious Design Team to have our monthly blog hop!! This month, our theme is "Spring is right around the corner".  Now if you've arrived here from seeing my awesomely talented design team sister Barb, then you're on the right track! If not, you'll want to start from the beginning at the Magnolia-licious Hightlites Blog.  You don't want to miss a single thing!!  Here's what I came up with for you today

I chose to use #225 Tilda with Daisy from the 2012 Sweet Crazy Love Collection. I don't see the full size in stock right now, but the mini is available! I also used #505 Stone Pathway for my background. Both images were stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen White paper and colored with a mixture of ProMarkers and Copics. Don't forget that Diana carries a HUGE selection of Magnolia images for you to choose from, and is the North American Distributor for the Mini Magnolias as well!! Her customer service and prices are the BEST! So be sure and visit Magnolia-licious for ALL your Magnolia needs! And don't forget to check out her amazing selection of fabulous dies while you're there! You'll find not only Magnolia Doohickey dies, but also Memory Box, Cheery Lynn, Marianne, and Poppystamps too!!

That yummy paper is Pion from my friend Christina, and it's matted with Bazzill cardstock. Thank you Christina! I've been saving it for something special and FINALLY got up enough nerve to actually use some of it. LOL! I do love hoarding beautiful paper!!  I used some lace from my stash, and gathered it up down the side of the vertical layer of paper. It's held there by simply using Scor Tape. If you haven't tried Scor Tape yet, you are missing out! It's amazing! The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the bow is made from May Arts silk ribbon  Added some machine stitching and called her done!

I've got some fun calorie free candy for a person that leaves a comment on my this post before 11:59 PM Sunday night, Feb 26th. Now it's time for you to head over to see the extraordinarily talented Angie! Thanks so much for hopping along with us today, and I hope you play along for a chance to win an awesome prize from the FANTABULOUS Diana at Magnolia-licious!!! Have a wonderful week! Hugs!

I wanted to give her a polka dotted hat, so I just used my Copic multi-liner and drew some in. Papertake Weekly - Black and White and Red all over!

Hey everyone! It's time for a new challenge from Papertake Weekly, and this week Dawny is asking for Black and White and Red all over. So you can use one, two, or all three colors, but that's all you can use excluding hair and skin.  We're being sponsored by Whiff of Joy.  Now I've got a gazillion thank you notes I need to get done and sent out, so I'm finally getting to the point where  I can start working on them. This is the first of many. I used another adorable image from the Sweet Crazy Love collection at Magnolia-licious.

She's stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen white paper and colored with Copics. She's then fussy cut out and placed inside a frame made with Nesties. Did you know that you can get your favorite Memory Box dies at Magnolia-licious? You can! This beautiful heart border die is out of stock right now, but there are soooo many more that are available and ready to be shipped! And Diana has the best service and prices around!!!

Magnolia-licious Shabby Chic

Wow! I'm finally posting my project for the Magnolia-licious DT challenge for February! This month, our fabulous and talented hostess is Ms Patti Jo, and she is asking us to go Shabby Chic! I've been wanting to try and make a little treat container for Valentine's Day, so I took this opportunity to challenge myself.  Here's what I came up with

I tried really hard to get a decent picture of this, but to no avail. It look so much cuter in person than it does in the pic. The colors are much better. I used the absolutely adorable image of Tilda with Cherry Pie from the Sweet Crazy Love 2012 Collection  at Magnolia-licious. I  LOVE her!!! She's definitely shabby chic! LOL! She's stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen White paper, colored her with Copic markers, and then fussy cut her out. The papers are from my scrap bin.  The hearts are cut out with Nesties, and then the strip attaching them together was done using my Scor Pal.

The sentiment is a mini Magnolia, and I think it works perfectly with her. Doesn't she look like she's totally lost in thought? Those pins were put together with some beads I have, and I stuck them through some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts that were enhanced with some Diamond Stickles.  Please be sure and visit Magnolia-licious Hightlites blog to see all the gorgeous creations by my DT sisters, and then we'd love it if you'd join us in the challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Diana at Magnolia-licious. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again tomorrow for another Papertake Weekly challenge. Hugs!

Kraftin' Kimmie - Pins and Pearls

Hey everyone! Just a really quick post from me today. It's Saturday (well...Friday night when I'm typing this actually) and I'm really hoping I slept well and late!! LOL! I haven't slept well at all the past week, and I could use some extra shut eye.  It's time for a new challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, and this week our hostess with the mostest is Ms Sandie Dunne! Sandie has challenged us to use pearls and pins on our projects this week.  Sandie used the Goddess Thaila for her gorgeous card, so that's the prize that's up for grabs for some lucky crafter that uses a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp on her challenge entry.  So using pearls and pins, this is what I came up with for the challenge.

I can't help it, I love making cards for what my grandson and I call "mushy gushy love day". LOL!  I used the adorable Cupid from Lots of Love 2 Set!! I ADORE this set of stamps, and guess what!!! It's one of the Frugal Friday Specials, so it's on sale!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!!   He's stamped onto Cryogen White paper and colored with Copic markers. I used some dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and some buttons from my stash. The ribbon is May Arts Silk.  We sure would love it if you'd play along with us ths week!

OH!!!! And before I go,  I have some SUPER exciting news! How many of you are big fans of the spectacular artist Annie Rodrigue??!! (can you see me raising my hand going "OH OH OH ME ME ME!!" LMBO!  If you are too, then you're going to love what I'm about to tell you. You are invited to watch the creation of a new Kraftin' Kimmie stamp....From idea, to sketch, to inked image.... Happy Birthday Angie!

Today is my Magnolia-licious DT sister Angie's Birthday, and Mindy (another DT sis and Angie's good friend) came up with an awesome idea to pay a special little tribute to her! Angie has her own line of stamps called LIttle Darlings, and she just launched a brand new line called Cutie Pies! And they are indeed CAAA-UTE!!  So....Mindy supplied me with an image, and I made up this little card as a tribute to my friend, Angie! Happy Birthday girlfriend!  I hope it's the best year ever, and I wish you many fantastic years to come!  Now without any further ado, here is the card I created with one of her Cutie Pies!

Is he not sweeter than sweet could ever dream of being?? And he was so fun and easy to color! He's stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen White paper and then colored with Copic markers. I then cut him out with oval Nesties and machine stitched around it.  I used several Magnolia Doohickey dies on this one....the flowers, the lacy border,  and the small doilies placed behind the ovals. I also used the banner die from Whimsy, a button die from PTI, and the leaf swirl from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Now see what happens when I try and do a card quickly, I don't get to sit on it and let it digest. The nore I look at it, the more I'm thinking I should have given the flowers red buttons. What do you think?

Now I have a wee bit of advice for you....if you use a pearl pen on your card, make sure it's the last thing you do on it, no matter how long you think it will be before you pick it back up again. See that "hello friend" up there in the corner? Well......that wasn't planned. LOL! I had applied three pearls with my black pearl pen, and I like the way it looked to. Until I went to grab the card to add another flower on it and forgot I had wet pearls in the corner. Oh what a a mess! I had black pearls all over my hands! "Now what" what my first thought! I had no idea what I could put up there in that small space above the banner.  So I started looking through my sentiments and found this nice small one. Problem solved! Although I sure liked the looks of the black pearls better, the tag looks a whole lotter better than a smeared black mess does! LOL! And last but not least, I added one of my bows using May Arts black silk ribbon topped off with a teddy bear charm from Stamp and Create.

So that's it for me! Please be sure and stop by to see everyone else that's playing along...

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Good morning friends! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week! It's time for a new challenge over at Papertake Weekly! It's the first Tuesday of the month, so that means it's an "anything goes" challenge and we're sponsored by one of everyone's favorite companies, Lili of the Valley! The option for this challenge is to add a heart to your project.  This is what I came up with.

This is actually my class card for the month of February, so if you're coming to class, this is the card you'll be making.  This adorable image is a Penny Black stamp illistrated by the infamous Mo Manning.  Is she not the sweetest thing??!! She was stamped with Memento ink onto Cryogen White paper and then colored with Copic markers. And I must say that she really was a lot of fun to color. I then fussy cut her out and popped her up from the frame I created with a Martha Stewart punch around the page set. The DP is We R Memory Keepers Cotton Tails matted with Bazzill cardstock, and the fence is a Magnolia Doohickey die.  and the heart is from Cheery Lynn Designs. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are yet another Martha Stewart punch edged with some chalk ink for definition. I made the lucious bow using May Arts Silk ribbon and another Wild Orchid Crafts flower. Look at that face...she is so stinkin cute!!!

So that's it for me today! Please be sure to hop over to Papertake Weekly to check out my awesomely talented teammies creations for this challenge. Then we'd love it if  you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win an awesome prize from Lili of the Valley! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Kraftin' Kimmie - It's my Birthday! and pics of CHA

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! I do love the weekends! It's time for a new challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog. Our hostess with the mostest is the Kween of Kraftin' Kimmie herself!  Since yesterday was her birthday, she chose Birthday to be the theme for the new challenge! Yay! So here's what I came up with for this one.

I chose to use this adorable cutie pie Lulu in a bathtub from the set of three Lovely Lulu's.  It comes with three adorable images and awesome sentiments.  It's stamped with Memento ink onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers. It's then cut out with Nesties.  The papers are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock.

There's lots of machine stitching on this one. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts enhanced with some rose leaves and branches from Martha Stewart punches. The ribbon is May Arts silk. The sentiment was my own that is computer generated and matted with more Bazzill cardstock.

Please be sure to pop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog to check out all the amazing creations by my teammies, and then we'd love it if you'd play along! And don't forget about the amazing sale that Kimmie has going over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! there are over 100 stamps on sale for either 41% off or $4.10 each!

********************************

So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!!

I am still pinching myself that I got to meet Lols!!!  She is my DT sis from Papertake Weekly, and was working with Simon Says Stamp. They're lucky to have her!

A pic of Lols, myself, and the amazing Ms Patti Jo! Patti Jo colored almost every one of those tags you see hanging in the booth. What talent!!!!  She was also so gracious to host a class on flower making for all of us! It was awesome and the cards are gorgeous!

And here I am with the oh so sweet and talented Cabio! What a treasure she is!!! I got to spend the entire afternoon coloring next to this wonderful bundle of talent!

Look at these two gorgeous ladies!!! Queen Diana is on the left, and the uber talented Suzan on the right! I was just giddy with delight!!!!

The amazing Jacque, myself, and again, the awesome Suzan. I have been waiting to meet Jacque for what seems like forever! She has been through quite the journey, and my hat goes off to her. She has been so supportive of me, and I was thrilled to finally get to meet this little firecracker that is such a generous and giving soul!

Look at those two stunning girls on the left! How can you be so gorgeous and so damn talented all at once? LMBO!  From left to right, there's Mindy (talk about talent - this girl has got it!!,  Angie - Ditto!! She has her own line of the most adorable images... Little Darlings - Check them out!! (I seriously don't know how she does it all!!) ,  Then there's me, and then the Queen that made every second of this possible, Queen Diana, owner of Magnolia-licious and inventor of Scor-Pal.  There's been a LOT of people that have tried to copy her invention (including Martha Stewart), but nobody can make one as good as the Scor-Pal! This woman has the biggest heart of anyone I know! She's unbelievable!! A true bundle of talent that is all wrapped up in a huge heart with a big pink bow!!

Well this little chicklette needs no introduction! LMBO!  I think everyone knows Suzanne! What a truly amazing woman! A wonderful Mom who truly cares and is always there with advice and assistance when needed. What else can I say?

A picture in front of the gorgeous booth headed up by King Roy and Queen Diana who are both seated.

Hope you enjoyed the pics! I had a truly glorious time and am still basking in the afterglow of meeting so many wonderful friends that I have been chatting with for years! I am one lucky, lucky woman.  Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
